Surya Kriya in front of Adiyogi

Hanahatha Yoga was founded to share yoga in its full depth and dimension with the SF Bay Area community.

Depending on the language, the word ‘hana’ means ‘bliss’, ‘grace’, ‘radiance’, ‘work’ (or ‘craft’), ‘flower’, ‘moon’, or ‘one’. The word ‘hatha’ means ‘sun and moon’ and also ‘being adamant’.

With hard work and grace, may the original form of yoga guide you into becoming a radiant human being. May this ‘sun and moon’ yoga take you into blissful states and allow you to blossom into your ultimate potential.

About the Teacher

Jean grew up in the Bay Area, experiencing many different forms of yoga. However, after taking her first class in Classical Yoga, she found her experience to be at a much deeper level than what she had experienced during her studio yoga classes. Soon after learning Yogasanas with Isha Foundation, she dropped her yoga studio membership and began her studies in the original form of Hatha Yoga. Her pursuit took her to South India to study and imbibe yoga in its full depth and dimension at the Isha Yoga Center. 1750 hours later, after much sweat (and a few tears), she became certified to impart Classical Hatha Yoga. Since then, she has taught yoga at Union Square for Spring India Day, in Golden Gate Park for International Day of Yoga (co-sponsored by the Consulate General of India, San Francisco and Isha Foundation), at Stanford University, and at various venues throughout Northern California.

Before becoming a classical yoga teacher, Jean worked in education, finance, and digital experience and design.
